Try this Now with your denim jacket!
The denim jacket is a favorite for teens, tweens and, well, everyone! You can find these jackets in a variety of lengths, washes, and even full of cool rips and tears. But the newest trend in jean jacket wear is personalizing yours with all sorts of pins. If you have a denim jacket in your closet and want to decorate it for a new look, it’s easy!
- Go on a pin hunt around your house. Ask your mom, grandma, or other friends and family members if they have any vintage pins in interesting colors and shapes. Have any pins from places you’ve visited? Perfect.
- Add to your collection by visiting garage sales, thrift stores, and antique shops. Shoot for a denim jacket collection of about five-ten pins (or more…) The funkier the better!
- Mix themes, colors, sizes, shapes, metals – mix everything!
- Emoji and icon pins are everywhere right now. We’ve seen them at Nordstrom online, Urban Outfitters, and Anthropologie. You can add to your “vintage and used” collection by purchasing a few new pins with trendy themes. Here are some of our favorites:
After you have collected an assortment of pins that you love and that work well together, arrange them on your jacket. We like choosing either the right or left chest, pocket and collar area and grouping the pins. Play with placement until you get the look you want.
Okay Cherry Blossom Chronicles readers – if any of you decide to try this with your jacket and pins, please send us pictures of your cool creations.
