The Handwritten Note

You want to talk to a friend, or share something cool, or even thank her for something? How do you usually go about doing that?

Yup, we see you guys! You reach for your phone and send a text or get on FaceTime, right? Kate and I are just as guilty of this. But there’s something unique and special about you taking the time to write a note or card to a friend, and your friend finding that note in her locker or mailbox. Nothing beats a good, old-fashioned personal note. It shows you care. It shows you thought extra-hard about her. It makes someone feel important!

Our challenge to you is to try to send at least one handwritten note a month. Some ideas of when to send one or what to write:

  1. Thank a friend or family member for a gift
  2. Use the prompt, You’re awesome because… and complete it
  3. Tell a friend who is struggling that you’re in her corner
  4. Complete the prompt, I thought of you today when…

You don’t have to use fancy cards or stationary. Even an index card decorated with stickers or colorful pens will do. Let’s get writing!
