Glam isn’t just for outfits!
When we think of glam, it usually has something to do with fashion. You know, wearing heels, or red lipstick. Maybe some “blingy” jewelry… But we can also add a touch of glam to our bedrooms.
Is your bedroom feeling a little dull or boring? Or maybe you feel your room is looking too young for you, lately? Try something glamorous. It doesn’t take much. Sometimes, just adding one or two new pieces or features to your room can punch up the look. We’ve pulled together a few of our favorite glamorous room items and we’re here to show you how to use them.
Today, we’re moving from dirt cheap to investment pricing. There’s something for every room and every budget.
First up – Cheap Glam
The fur pillow. It’s everywhere right now and for good reason. It’s the quickest way to add a luxurious feel to your bedding. These pillows can hover at around $100 but this is all about cheap. We promised.
Whoever designed this pillow for Target, knocked it out of the park. As you can see, it comes in a few colors and is always under $20! We’ve showcased this pillow in our post header shot. Even one of these on your bed adds texture and luxury.
Next up in Price – Glam Storage
Kate has a version of these West Elm shelves in her room and they definitely added a big punch to her decor. She loves them. Right now these are on SALE for $40-$100, depending on the size you purchase. Find them here.
And Then There’s – Light Bright
Here’s an idea. Replace your ceiling fan or other light fixture with a chic chandelier. You can find chandeliers to suit any decor – boho, romantic, modern…anything you like. Our picks are under $150. You may need to hire a handyman (or treat a handy friend to pizza or something) for help in wiring and hanging your new chandelier.
Lastly, Glam Investment Piece
If you’re going to splurge on a room item, we would like it to last for years and years. Our pick for a room investment piece is a luxury throw blanket. Why? If you invest in a top quality throw now, you can bring it with you to college and it will last until you maybe get your first apartment. If you take care of it.
Cherry Blossom friend and reader, Kiera, has already chosen the throw as her glam item. We’ve chosen it, too! In fact, the very same one. Our favorite blanket right now is Anthropologie’s take on the traditional Moroccan wedding blanket. We’ve just purchased this and it is stunning. The gold sequins and cotton fringe are definitely glamorous. Doesn’t it look amazing on Kiera’s bed?
We know the colors and style of this particular throw might not complement your room or personal style. In addition to this throw, here are a couple of other choices that might work for you.
In addition to our favorite wedding throw, this board shows beautiful blankets with fur pom-poms and different cozy textures. Animal prints, too. We love to drape one along the edge of our beds, like Kiera did. You could also display your blanket on a chair. Lay it out flat and folded up, or casually toss it on the end. Your choice.
