If you’re like us, you spend plenty of time at your desk. Homework, FaceTiming, gaming, writing notes and letters, and even crafting? Yup. All of that and more. And we are all about making our most-used spaces pretty, fun, and personal.
Our picks for desktop features:
• Something Fun, Pretty, or Inspiring
A figurine or trip souvenir, a party favor from a friend’s birthday, a vase with a single flower, a framed inspiring quote.
• Pretty Coaster
Ready for an afternoon glass of lemonade or a mug of hot chocolate. And protect your desktop, too.
• Paper Catcher
Try a stand-up file holder, or a flat paper tray. They come in all colors and designs and keep all those papers organized. Perfect for permission slips, cards for upcoming birthdays, or school papers you’ll need later on.
• Framed Photos
We like one or two pictures of special memories or favorite people.
• Supply Holder
A home for stuff like pens and scissors. Either put these things in a top drawer or have them ready to use in a cup or holder. Look around your house for vases, mugs, or even cleaned-out candle holders to repurpose as supply caddies.
• Little Trinket Tray
We’ve featured these before on our blog. If you feel like taking off earrings or rings while you’re studying, or you need a place to throw a paper clip or other small item just waiting to get lost, these keep little things safe.
• Something Cozy
Drape a soft blanket or throw on the back of your chair to reach for when it gets chilly.
Now, to put everything together. We styled the same West Elm Parsons desk and Chair three ways:

Summer is the perfect time for a desk re-do before back-to-school – Happy styling!
Brilliant, now all can see that GEJ is doing Nigerians a great deal by the removal of fuel subsidy. I believe we as Nigerians can see reason with Mr. President and support his sincere patriotism to his fatherland and also help make this particular CHANGE we all voted irscrpeetive of party a success story. Jarvis, I hope this rant doesn't ruin rue Cambon for me! It's just the lack of imagination the use of it shows that annoys me, not so much the material in itself. As you say, it's that dull muddiness that's annoying.
It was great fun. At one point the thought occurred to me that perhaps I enjoy the rummaging around at the sale itself more than the actual eventual reading of the books themselves, but having accessioned them all on LibraryThing and now starting to read one new book, I conclude that the whole process, from anticipation, participation, acquisition and perusal, is entirely pleasurable. (Can you tell I am reading Mary Renault at the moment? )
