Shh…..Everyone Needs One
Let’s face it, the teen life is busy and the opposite of quiet: school, homework, chores, sports, theater or music practices, spending time with friends, family time, maybe working a part-time job…whew! Crazy, right?
Sometimes, we just need to stop. And breathe. And be alone.
One of best tips to fight the crazy is to find your very own quiet spot. The quiet spot can be anywhere that works for you. Do you have a cozy chair in your bedroom? A beanbag chair? Or maybe it’s a corner of the couch in your living room. Your spot can be smack-dab in the middle of your bed, too. It doesn’t matter where. What matters is you have a designated place to go and chill, recharge, and relax.
We know one teen who made a quiet spot in her room with a cute sleeping bag set out in the corner. Great idea!
Some things to make your quiet spot personal and cozy:
- A pretty blanket or throw
- Favorite books
- Headphones for chilling with your tunes
- A little side table to hold items or a mug for a warm drink
- Journal and pen
What if your idea of a relaxing place takes you outdoors? That works, too.
Wherever you choose your spot, it doesn’t matter. Just make it your own. Read, pray, journal, draw, daydream, snuggle with your dog or cat, listen to tunes…
Do you already have a special place to relax? Tell us about it!
