Try pairing denim shorts under a long layering piece. Why this works? It’s unexpected! The easiest way to try out this look is to start with a pair of shorts (they can be any length shorts––longer Bermuda shorts work, too.) Then search for a long cardigan sweater, sleeveless cardigan, or kimono that extends at least 4-5 inches below the hem of the shorts. We like a simple layer under the cardigan, like a solid color top or just a tank top. The best shoes for this look are sandals or ankle boots. But, flats or your favorite sneakers worn without socks would work, too.
More Options: Also try the long sweater over a mini dress, skater skirt, or cotton, lace, or khaki shorts. Cold out? Just add tights or leggings.
Accessories that pair perfectly: A straw or wool fedora, bangle bracelet, or a long necklace that complements the line of the longer layering piece.
OMG IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN AHHHH
I think we are yours!
Nice job, Laura! And I think I recognize those not so little girls. I’m glad I have some mentor moms ahead of me to look to for future tween girl info. ?
Thank you so much! There will be plenty for “big girls” like us, too! And yes, you are spot on about our lovely models…
