Happy New Year! While I’m starting off 2019 with one book coming out in October and my newest just starting to take shape in my computer, my favorite teen author and philanthropist, Alyssa Antoci is here to tell us all about her latest adventures.

Happy New Year everyone!
It has been a couple of months since I last blogged, and I wanted to wish you all a new year filled with success and happiness. I have been in Cabo San Lucas Mexico spending Christmas with my aunt and uncle who live in New York! I had never been to Mexico before and it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. It was so beautiful and the weather was the perfect temperature. We got to have the most incredible food and see the culture. Some of the highlights were learning how to paddle board and getting a massage on the beach overlooking the Sea of Cortez. And the best thing–going canoeing and seeing whales jumping in and out of the ocean!

It was so different from what I’m used to as the police ride around in truck beds standing up holding machine guns. Also, the landscape is dry desert with a lot of cacti, and animals are loose all over the roads. All of the people who worked at the restaurants and resorts were so polite and accommodating, and made our stay very welcoming.
What’s in store for 2019?
This year I have decided to set many goals for myself. One of them is to finish writing the novel I started last year. I’m also going to try to eat healthier and work out more which is a usual new years goal for me and most people!
I also hope to get my book, The Purple Marble, and the musical adapted from my book into more schools! I know I already have 20 schools lined up for the new year and I have to travel a lot more, which is very exciting. The last class I spoke to in 2018 was one of the most inspiring classrooms I’ve ever spoken to as the kids had all the answers to my questions and the teacher was one of the most caring teachers I’ve ever met. I hope I get many more classrooms and teachers like this.
Thank you all for supporting my mission and I hope 2019 treats you well!
