What’s for Breakfast? Toast, Three Ways

No time for breakfast? Try an easy and delicious toast topper

A good breakfast is essential for getting your body and mind ready for school, work, sports practice, or whatever the day has in store for you. The problem? Many of us only have a few minutes for breakfast each morning and it can be hard when you’re trying to get out the door to catch a bus or a carpool ride.

Sure, you could always grab a granola bar, but we have some other ideas for quick breakfasts that are packed with protein and vitamins. Lately, our favorite cafes have been serving up artisan toast plates with beautiful and creative toppings. We’ve taken some of those ideas and simplified them with easy-to-find ingredients that might already be in your kitchen. As for time, you can go from from empty plate to one of our creations below in less than five minutes. Everyone has five minutes!

For each of our toast toppers, we used thickly cut sourdough loaf slices. You can use something similar or substitute your favorite bread. While your bread is toasting, prepare and gather your toppings. If you’re still stuck in a time crunch, set out some of the condiments the night before.

1. Peanut butter + Sliced Banana + Drizzle of Honey + Sprinkle of Cinnamon

2. Cream Cheese + Sliced Strawberries

3. Mashed Avocado + Sea Salt

…we also added chopped cilantro and a sprinkle of crushed red pepper to the mashed avocado. Give it a try!

If you have any questions, ask away! Otherwise we hope you’ll try one or more of these and let us know which one is your favorite.
